Notice of Intended Marriage

This form can be obtained from me or at any Court house. You can lodge your Notice in person, via fax or mail and you must bring the original Notice to Sydney with you. It MUST BE: Signed by al least one partner and witnessed at least one month before the Ceremony. The other party must complete the Notice before the ceremony takes place.

Choice of Ceremony

The Marriage legislation requires that you make certain promises. Although some of these words must adhere to the law, You are also free to writte your own vows or use the commmonly used ones. I will provide you with a Sample Ceremony to work on, until you are fully satisfied with the way your Wedding is going to unfold.

Documents

I will need to see your passports and preferably birth certificate as well. If you have any issues presenting your passport then I will let you know the alternatives available to you.

Also, where applicable, I will need to see your Divorce or death of a spouse certificate.

Declaration

This is a legal document required of both parties declaring that there is no legal impediment to the marriage. I will provide you with this form that must be signed as close as possible to the wedding date.

Witnesses

You are required to have TWO witnesses over the age of 18. They do not have to be Australian Citizens. I can assist you with this if necessary.

Age

You must be at least 18 years of age to marry in Australia.

Immigration

If you are bringing your partner into Australia on a Prospective Spouse Visa I can provide you with the necessary letter for the Immigration Department. The letter will explain that you have signed the Notice of Intended Marriage and that you have booked my Services to perform your Wedding Ceremony at a certain date and place.
